NOMAD works with children, young people and parents/adults often living on the margins of the community due to social and economic factors. It provides a breadth of services including:
Healthy Eating Drop In for parents/carers and pre school children
Educational Programmes to support parents in parenting training, literacy/ numeracy, cooking, budgeting and family learning etc.
Providing support with benefits/housing/health issues and linking people with appropriate agencies – advocating on their behalf as appropriate.
Providing a listening ear
Delivery of modular Life Skills programme in local schools – looking at building self-esteem, communication, handling anger, healthy life styles, planning and managing time etc.
NOMAD Football Project for 11 – 16 year olds & 19 – 19 year olds - providing a platform to teach life skills through sport.
One to One mentoring with young people.
Working with young people in or at risk of being in the NEET category and moving them into EET (Not in/Employment Education or Training).
Providing diversionary activities for young people through trips, video/pizza evenings etc.
Organising gender specific activities for young people.
Organising Holiday Activity Programmes to enable children/young people/families to enjoy themselves and work towards improving their local environment.
